ABOUT ME

I’m Anný… a multidisciplinary artist from Iceland.

Since I can remember, I’ve always been drawn to any form of creation, whether it is painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, writing, etc. I do it to make sense of the world around me and how I exist within it.

Even though I had this initial need within me, I like many others sought to fulfill some sort of ‘grown-up’ idealism that supposedly was rational. And so I did, following a blinded guide to life instead of my own compass. I graduated from the University of Reykjavík with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

After graduation, more lost than ever, I decided to make my way to Australia. All based on one interaction with an Australian adventurer that I had spoken to at a bar that I worked in at the time. He had this carefree way of moving in the world, and I wanted to feel free.

After many adventures around the world, seeing places, and meeting all sorts of people. I’m back and more grounded in myself. Perhaps this journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance was a way for me to find freedom from made-up idealisms about how to be in this world and discover what I wanted to be.

Most of my art pieces are inspired by emotional awakening and human experiences. I emphasize having vivid colors and flowing figures in my work, often enhanced by 3D texture for the viewer to interact and touch.

My style varies from abstract realism to modern abstract, where I specialize mostly in landscapes and portraits.

I hope that my work can inspire you or at the very least give you something beautiful to look at in your environment.

Wish you all the best,
