The series
Currents / Öldugangur
draws inspiration from natural currents
— both visible and invisible — and how
they shape our environment and our consciousness.
Working with metallic textures and organic forms, the
artist highlights contrasts between rigid materials and
soft movement, between weight and lightness,
between stillness and power.
Silfurbárur is a wall-mounted relief work that draws
the viewer in with a floating surface and metallic
texture that reflects light and movement. The surface
resembles waves or currents in a still moment — a
frozen movement that captures the flow of nature and
the ever-changing nature of matter. The work is part
of the Currents series, which explores the relationship
between matter, movement and perception. Each work in
the series is based on hand-shaped curves and depths,
reflecting natural energy and emotional landscapes.
The project blends sculpture and painting into a relief
that speaks to both the senses of sight and touch.
The Silfurbárur artwork is currently a part of LOW KEY LOUD group exhibition
