VERA: DEBUT ART EXHIBITION

VERA is my first solo exhibition.

It was exhibited in the beautiful Gallery Laugalækur / Kaffi Laugalækur from 2nd of February 2024 - 29th of February 2024.

Vera is a ode to life.
For being is existing, experiencing, shaping and growing.
Endless streams, storms, waves and turblences.
Precious calm, the calm before the inevitable storm that shapes us and makes us.
The core of the show is our being.
Our roles and our emotions that comes with being.
The eyes simply represent our sense of seeing, which is an essential part of our experience. They are one of our tools to experience our environment, creating the perception . Draw everything in.
Like a child that uses their senses to observe and learn.

In our later years, we often forget to pause, stop and look around. To see. Do you see...
The creatures are based on the ever flowing oceans.

Furthermore, the jellyfishes and seaweed, where their movement seems so effortless in their environment. Soft and flowing. Almost like they are dancing.
By giving them a persona, a name and human like figure, I gift them with a new way of communicating.
The hands communicate the emotions and experiences that they might be going through.
And here I’ll let you, the observer, be.
